I reckon as good a show can be put up in MSTS as in RW, and some of the detailing is better in MSTS where you can properly control the ground textures in a way it isn't possible in RW. You know I don't like bare table routes, and a bare table RW route looks just as unrealistic.

RW at its worst is as bad as MSTS at its worst. There is a lot going on in tweaking what happens, and there are some steam engines available now for UK routes that are pretty good, if not excellent, in what they can do - you need to use the advanced controls to run them, and if you don't do things right then you either can't move, or manage to melt some plugs.takes some handling, and as for then moving stock on an incline, they need to be coaxed.Īll a mixed bag, but then MSTS was as well out of the box.
